Jeffrey Stewart, UCSB Professor of Black Studies, will be honored for his prose in The New Negro: The Life of Alain Locke, which won the 2018 National Book Award in the nonfiction category. The event will feature Niko Pfund, President and Academic Publisher of Oxford University Press, and a conversation between Jeffrey Stewart, Cheryl Wall (Rutgers University) and Terrance Wooten (UCSB).
The event will be held on Monday, January 14 from 5-7pm in the UCSB MultiCultural Center Lounge.
