On February 16th from 1-5:30pm in HSSB Room 6020, The Medieval Studies Program and History Department will be holding a colloquium on the work of UCSB history professor Sharon Farmer, who studies medieval gender constructs and environmental history. Six of Farmer’s students will be giving talks on different areas of the topic. Brown University professor Amy Remensnyder will lecture about medieval Muslim and Christian sailors, who made the Mediterranean island of Lampedusa an interfaith refuge.
