HISTORY ASSOCIATES: WONDERS OF MEDIEVAL ROME
SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 7, 2021, 2:00 - 3:00 PM (PDT)
Presented by the History Department.
Recent research, discoveries and restorations are dramatically changing how scholars view medieval Rome. Carol Lansing, a historian of medieval Italy, will discuss medieval Rome as a crucible of the arts, particularly focusing on the Aula Gotica frescoes and reevaluating the narrative of early Renaissance painting.
This event is free and open to the public. The lecture will take place at the Karpeles Manuscript Library in downtown Santa Barbara.
