Presented by UCSB’s Carsey-Wolf Center
UCSB’s Carsey-Wolf Center screened filmmaker Ray Santisteban’s The First Rainbow Coalition. The film told the story of a community movement in Chicago that fought to end police brutality and substandard housing in the 1960’s. The film was told through rare archival footage and interviews with former Coalition members. Director Ray Santisteban joined moderator Ben Olguín from the English department for a post-screening discussion of the film.
