Friday-Sunday, October 11-13, 12 p.m. or 4 p.m.

UCSB Theater/Dance Courtyard

Presented by the Theater and Dance Department

The play, by William Shakespeare, is set in Messina and follows two couples: Hero and Claudio and Benedick and Beatrice. While Hero and Claudio plan to marry, a scheme is set in motion to tarnish Hero’s reputation, leading to dramatic conflict. Meanwhile, Benedick and Beatrice, who are constantly at odds, are tricked into falling in love with each other. Irwin Appel, UCSB theater professor, directs this version of the play.
