Graduating Master of Fine Arts students explore physical and conceptual boundaries in a new Art, Design & Architecture Museum exhibition
Graduating artists in the Department of Art's Master of Fine Arts program will showcase their culminating work in "Fault Lines," a new exhibition at the Art, Design & Architecture Museum. Running from May 23 to June 7, the showcase features artists Tiffany Aiello, Alexis Childress, Hope Christofferson, Emily d’Achiardi, Negar Farajiani, Vivek Karthikeyan and KeyShawn Scott.
The exhibition brings together each artist's physical and conceptual lines of inquiry to break with linearity and overturn expectations for lines to mark boundaries. “Fault lines, both metaphorical and material, disrupt our understanding of the nature of boundaries as impenetrable," according to curatorial text by Alida Jekabson and Kristin Yinger from the Department of History of Art and Architecture. "Upon closer inspection, these apparent divides are invitations to transgress and generate anew.”
Supported by the Division of Humanities and Fine Arts, the exhibition opens with a public reception on May 23. Read the full story on The Current.
