UCSB’s Carsey-Wolf Center to screen the Sidney Lumet classic that skewers mass media and those who consume it.

Fifty years ago, "Network" predicted a future where news was indistinguishable from entertainment and outrage drove the ratings. “When I show ‘Network’ to my students, there’s little shock factor for them,” says Ross Melnick, professor in the Department of Film and Media Studies. “What they see is a world they already know.”
